 | 10:49 am - Sought: OGD, OTO, Thelema, Crowley and Hermetic tradition & more speaker for AnachroCon 2011 I am Pixie Bruner and am the Director of Historical Programming for AnachroCon. AnachroCon is Atlanta's premier alt history /steampunk/ neovictorian/ speculative fiction and anachronistic convention and is going into it's third year with hundreds of attendees and more each year. It is an NPO. It runs from Feb 25-27, 2011.
http://www.anachrocon.com is our website.
I am most interested in having a guest at the con speak on the matter of the O.T.O, the O.G.D and other Victorian occult traditions and forms of Hermeticism and do another panel purely on Thelema, Crowley and his influence on Victorian and modern occultism as a whole.
Personally, I would like to present guests with a panel on the Shekinah with/and/or one on the Gnostic Gospels.
I would also be interested in a panel on the Victorian "pseudo-sciences" of seances and mediumship if thee is someone amongst this community who could speak authoritatively on such matters and would be so far as to be willing to possibly run a traditional historical seance for a pre-registered limited number of guests (no more than ten or 12) .
I also seek a guest to speak about the history of Divination in general and the Hermetic, O.G.D.'s, and other occult traditions influence on the development of the Rider-Waite deck that is the most commonly used Tarot form.
Guests are asked to do two hours (three is preferred) of panels or presentations or workshops/ and have full audio-visual suppory for slideshows and whatever they require for their panel. Each panel is 50 minutes in length. Guests have their con attendance comped and receive amuses-bouche, meals, and top shelf aperitifs. Panelists doing one hour of presentation are comped simply for the day they are speaking and have full access to the Con Suite/Green Room for the day. We have homemade Tiramisu, no nasty Con food for us!!:)
Any references and recommendations to those willing to speak on such matters with good credentials would be most appreciated.
Thanks for your time and hope to hear back from potential speakers soon!:)

 | 09:15 pm - An Introduction to Faery Seership Orion Foxwood, Presenting The Faery Seership tradition is a collection of lore, customs, techniques, and prohibitions, which originate in the Celtic and pre-Celtic tribes of Europe. It focuses on the living inner commonwealth of the sacred land and humanity's spiritual cousins in the other world. It is a philosophy, way of life and a paradigm through which we as humans can re-enter alliance with the Earth, other living creatures, the plant/tree kingdom, and other races of beings which share the Earth's surface and underworld life with us.
Orion is a conjurer in the Southern folk tradition, a traditional witch and founding elder of the Foxwood Temple of the Old Religion. For over 20 years, he has lectured extensively on magical practices and spiritual development. Author of "The Faery Teachings", a collaborative CD project with RJ Stewart entitled "Faery Seership", and his newly released book titled "Tree of Enchantment".
Phoenix & Dragon Monday, October 19; 7pm to 9pm; $30 Preregistration Required

 | 01:37 pm - First post. I hope this isn't a no-no, though I didn't see anything against this kind of post in the rules.
I'm an artist and practitioner of varying interest currently living in Stone Mountain. I'm looking for some commissions so that I might pay rent, eat food...you know, all those luxuries? I was pointed here by a few people, including one of the list owners.
I do a great deal of magick- and myth-related art, and I don't shy away from the dark or the shiny-happy-fluffy.
More examples here, and here.

 | 04:31 pm - Chaos magick & reality engineering tea party Hello all-
Time again for the monthly gathering at 11:11 Teahouse (753 edgewood ave ne, atlanta 30307) at 6pm. This time around we are planning to talk about how the term 'magick' relates to 21st century culture and reality. Is magick an archaic term that misleads more than it informs? Does it remain an appropriate choice to label the various forms of reality manipulation we endeavor? Do things such as NLP constitute magick or vice-versa? If the practice of chaos magick endeavors to scrap unnecessary cultural and symbolic baggage, does that include contextualizing various activities as magick at all?
Come have some tea (provided) or wine (bring yer own) and chat!
Hope to see you there.
